Playing with Blocks

Started with blocks my sons played with years ago.... (they are now 38 and 28)...cut some sweet images from an old discarded text book and used my trusty Mod Podge to apply, putting names on the backs.............then a couple of extra coats of Podge, glued on a button and Bob's your uncle, as the Brits would say............or Voila!, as the French.............or just plain.............done!

Books I am Perusing...........or Bookmarking

Showing a little stack of books on my reading shelf today. A wide variety of titles, showing a broad reading spectrum, eh? Well, not really..........(Especially NOT Expectant Motherhood; YIKES!)

I have saved a stash of hard cover book spines for quite awhile now from books I have disassembled for artwork. They make great one of a kind bookmarks. I have seen this idea in magazines and also recently on the blog GREEN PAPER. Lots of creative ephemera going on there. A bit of old book pages for the back, cardstock for the middle, some fave Mod Podge, top it off with an eyelet. And, I used some cool old fishing line that I picked up at a sale. New reel of it; no fishy smell :)

Bookmarks to Cozy inside a Favorite Book

Finished these bookmarks for a friend today. They are so fun to make with little bits of paper, music, trims, buttons. All neutrals. The kind of bookmark to use when reading Jane Austen.

Having WAY TOO MUCH FUN with Tags and Labels

These tags are so fun to make................I bought the plain tags from Blanca at "Moonlight Magic Studio"...........she bakes them with some yummy recipe that makes them smell just wonderful..............The labels are from a free download of Cathes' at "Just Something I Made". Sorry I am not adept at setting up a URL for their sites.

With the addition of some red ticking fabric, scrapbook paper and some trims, they just need a bit more to finish them. The other set started with some wrapping paper of Harpers Bazarr of long ago. I used just a bit of gold glitter glue around the hats. Fun to make and to give.
