Obsessed with Book Page Art

I am crazy about books, as in reading them, but also, for those that have lived past their expiration date, I am enamored with seeing them made into something else.  I have made a few of the simpled folded books for display and made one for my friend Tami.  BUT, this one to show today is my fave thus far.  From a book called babies that I have loved for a long, long time, but it was wanting to be turned into something new.

It was so much fun folding the pages and seeing it take shape.......................The pretty end papers were already there.....................

Oh yeah, did I tell you that this book is only 2 inches tall?  That is what makes it so precious. And, one of my new FAVORITE THINGS.

How Cool Are THESE Books ?????

Recently discovered my new favorite place to shop, Stampers Ink. It's been there for 5 years, so I am a bit late in finding it, but it was worth the wait! The owner, Tanya, is the most gracious and helpful of shop owners and she just makes you wanna go back again. She carries the biggest variety of stamps and inks around and has fabulous classes at very low prices.

I was overjoyed to find these two books there. Tanya cuts old Readers Digest Condensed books into these fabulous shapes with a band saw! I am in altered heaven with the Heart one right now. I also bought some Copic markers there and they are wonderful too.

Here is what they look like when opened. Talk about Great Repurposing!

Now, what are you up to at your house today?

Serendipity and the Tale of the Bunny Dominoes

Today I hit one big sale and bought only 3 things before I got too hot and sick and came home. Found these great old beat up dominoes and a double deck of playing cards with French bunny word "Lapin" on them. I was playing in my altered book with paper and pages and began to cut bunnies out in various ways as shown below. Added one to my book. Then, it hit me to use the smallest cut version and make Bunny Dominoes. I used one of my granddaddys' old files to round off the corners and edges and then my fave Mod Podge to adhere the image. Think I will give it a top coat, then maybe rough it up and stain it a little and then one final coat. Too much fun for only 75 cents!!!

Oh, aren't they sweet?
