What fun I have had the past couple of days assembling this collage. I began with a 12 X 12 piece of stretched canvas, measured off in 16 squares, then painted the squares. I added some pieces of old, worn note paper, strips of music to divide the squares and lots of lace, crochet and needlework. Topped each square off with bits and pieces of found objects in neutral shades.
I am so pleased with it and now want to do one in all black and white.

August Collage Challange at GreenPaper and BUTTONS!

Fun with Mary Green today with her 3 image Collage August for this first week of AUGUST! I cropped the French page and copied it on card stock. I then cropped the pretty lady and gave her a soft border in a shade of brown. Ran the French page back through to print off the lady. Cropped the blank label, inserted the words and ran it off on another page. Cut and pasted and voila!, a Frenchy piece called "Expectantly Waiting".
Actually I am not waiting, but sitting home missing the National Button Society Show in Grand Rapids this week! I had planned on going, but LIFE got in the way. If you are reading this, love buttons and can make it there, GO, if at all possible. Details are here: National Button Society

Christmas Fun in Grammys' Workshop

Been making little Christmas post card collages this past week. I copy and print the post cards onto card stock and mount them over sheets of music. It is fun to add the little bits of this and that~~~~~ buttons and ribbons and stuff. The last one is done in a wood box. I used a bit of cotton batting to simulate snow and glued in some pearls here and there.
Working with these old images make me feel much better than I have been feeling lately. On a very personal note, I struggle with depression, big time. I have had several weeks of doing really well and the past few days I have really crashed. Today, for something TOTALLY different, my husband and I played Gin Rummy. Haven't done that in years and it has been so much fun! Hope today is good for you where you live.

Sewin' and Plannin' and Dreamin' and Restin"
I am busy getting ready for a long awaited trip to see friends. Been a long time since I have been anywhere. Today I made this apron to take to someone special. It is from a free pattern HERE
It did not call for buttons, but a day without buttons is like..............well, YOU KNOW..............so, anyway, I just had to add some.

I know it is miles of days before Valentines, but this little image is my favorite button post card. I have been making so many of these little collages lately. In case you are wondering............no, I do not use the actual card, but I scan and print on cardstock.

In between the doing and thinking and creating, I have to take little naps. Guess Grammy is feeling her age a bit.

Another Day, Another Collage...........

Sweet little collage to share.
These are so theraputic to make; adding all the little touches. Too much fun for one grammy!
Otherwise, I am dealing with a bad bite on the arm that I got down in my workspace. Had to make a doctor visit as it was so swollen and red. Getting better now. It's a jungle out there! Even in your own basement!!!

Wee Little Ones on Halloween Collages

Halloween is not a holiday I am fond of.............don't care for witches or ghosts or being scared to death. But, when I saw such cute post card images of wee Halloween kidlets, I just wanted to make something with them.
These are on mat board with the post cards printed onto cardstock. I added rick-rack and buttons and some glitter. Oh yeah, and some little Boo! signs and one Meow.

New Artwork to Share
I put a lot of myself into these pieces. I never sit down and do an entire piece at one time. Ideas have to come to me, bit by bit.
First one is on a 4 X 6 mat board and called "Out Standing"; we are all outstanding in our field; the secret is in finding the right field! I am STILL trying to do this after 58 years!
Second one, also on 4 x 6 mat board is "On the Road", although my husband calls it Bonnie and Clyde; it does kind of have that look to it.
Last one is on an old book cover and is 5 x 7 1/2 is "Life is a Circus".......!!!

Well, if you are not just looking, but actually reading what I write, and you like any of these pieces, leave me a comment. If I actually get any comments, and I will choose one on Wednesday night and send you one of these three collage pieces.

Little Bits of This and That Collage
Just finished these 4 x 6 cuties, mounted on mat board. The last one is a snapshot of me in the dress. Interesting thing is I still sometimes pose like that! Guess those little mannerisms we learn as a child stay with us.................

Newest Collage-Her Bird
Been working on this piece on and off for several weeks................ I rarely do an entire piece all in one sitting............I usually have to think on it and wait until I know what is next...............

The last photo shows the negative of one of the houses my parents lived in when first married............I love the negative look of seeming to look back in time.............
